The structures and system of the Earth are out of balance. Our pathways are converging at crossing roads; in early December 2009 the leaders of the world’s nations will come together in Copenhagen, Denmark. There they will decide, on our behalf, the future of International policy that will affect not just the course of climate change, but global economy and social justice alike. It is our desire that the people of the earth are not silenced or immobilized as we face the realities of climate crisis, peak oil, global economic recession, mass human population growth, ecosystem collapse, poverty and personal fatigue. Rather we seek to acknowledge our common structural realities and map new pathways that may one day lead our world to a shared sustainable future. Despite the conference in Copenhagen we know that true change does not come from the top down, or outside in – such mechanisms open the door – true change grows from the bottom up, the inside out. Everyone has a role to play. Now is our time. Centuries from now our future children and their children may well ask of the people of our time. What prevented them from taking the necessary actions to fulfill their roles as guardians of our world? We invite you to join us at this Open Space event to further these conversations and our individual and corporate strategies for awareness and action; as we seek a sustainable future. |
